Rights and source preflight

Confirm which song you are checking before you touch the audio. Write down the project name, song version, download date, and whether the file is a full mix, a vocal, an instrumental, or a separated stem. Similar filenames make it surprisingly easy to polish an older generation and compare it with a newer one.

Then check your right to use every input. Treblo’s current Terms say that, between the user and the service and to the extent permitted by law, the user owns whatever rights may exist in an output. The same section says outputs may not be unique and gives no warranty about copyrightability or legality. You remain responsible for lawful prompts, lyrics, uploaded audio, voices, and use of the result.

The Privacy Policy says Treblo processes account data and content such as prompts, lyrics, audio, generated music, and other submitted material to provide and improve the service. Read the current policy before uploading confidential lyrics, an unreleased recording, personal information, or audio owned by someone else. A clean-sounding file is not evidence that you have permission to use it.

Availability varies by account and track. A public feature list does not prove that every format, stem, editor, or API operation appears on your current song. Check the controls in front of you, especially for an older project or a song created through a different product area.

When Treblo offers WAV, keep it as the working source for the Sunofix path. WAV can hold uncompressed audio and avoids another lossy encoding step before cleanup. FLAC is also lossless and useful for archiving, but confirm that the next tool accepts it. Sunofix’s normal input path uses MP3 or WAV.

MP3, M4A, and OGG are useful for listening and delivery because they reduce file size. They do that by discarding or simplifying information. If a lossy file is the best source Treblo shows for this song, use that original download instead of a copy from a social platform, video editor, or messaging app.

Changing a filename or converting a lossy file to WAV does not recreate what the first codec removed. Sunofix cannot restore audio detail discarded by lossy encoding. It may reduce a distracting edge in the decoded file, but it cannot reconstruct the exact original signal. Keep the first download untouched so every later comparison returns to the same source.

Full-mix check

Play the full mix once without pausing. Do not start with a looping microscope test. You need to remember whether the song carries its mood and energy before you focus on a defect.

On the second pass, choose one busy section and one exposed section. I usually check the busiest chorus first because metallic shimmer, splashy cymbals, and crowded reverb have fewer places to hide there. A quiet verse or intro then shows whether the noise floor, vocal grain, or reverb tail is exposed when the arrangement opens up.

Listen at a comfortable level on headphones, then use ordinary speakers. Turn the speakers down for one pass. If the vocal disappears at low volume, that can point to a balance problem rather than an artifact. If a sharp layer follows the same syllable or cymbal hit on both playback systems, you have better evidence that the symptom is in the export.

Name one problem and mark its time. “The chorus is harsh” is still broad. “A glassy layer follows the held vocal note at 1:06” gives you a repeatable test. Avoid claims about how Treblo’s internal model caused the sound; the file can show you what is audible, not the closed system that produced it.

Check for hard clipping as well. A short crack at a transition may be an edit problem. Repeated flattened peaks may indicate that the source has already been pushed too far. Cleanup can sometimes reduce the distraction, but it cannot rebuild severely clipped transients or guarantee a clean master from a broken file.

Vocal check

If Treblo provides a separate vocal for this song, compare it with the same passage in the full mix. Do not assume a vocal download exists for every project, and do not assume separate files will line up perfectly until you test them.

Bypass every vocal change. If the consonants turn soft, the voice moves backward, or the singer loses useful breath and presence, reduce the treatment. The goal is not the smoothest solo vocal. It is a vocal that still feels like the same performance inside the song.

Instrumental check

An instrumental can mean a song generated without vocals, a backing version, or one part of a separated set. Label the file rather than guessing. Compare its duration and first strong transient with the full mix before building a session around it.

Focus on cymbal attacks, sustained synths, distorted guitars, bass notes, and reverb between phrases. Splashy highs sound like a hit dissolving into fine spray. A steady hiss remains in gaps. Metallic shimmer moves around sustained tones. Mud or weak bass may instead be a mix-balance problem that needs access to separate parts.

Listen in context after every solo check. A bright synth can sound abrasive alone and sit correctly beneath the vocal. A cymbal that seems acceptable on its own can mask consonants in the full mix. Soloing helps locate a problem, but it does not decide whether the song needs correction.

If usable stems are available and the vocal is simply too loud, the bass covers the kick, or one cymbal needs independent repair, mix the parts. A stereo cleanup pass can soften a broad symptom, but it cannot rebalance individual instruments with the control of a stem session.

Cleanup and A/B

Choose mixing when the relationship between parts is wrong. A buried vocal, bass that masks the kick, a cymbal that needs its own repair, or a reverb level that changes between sections calls for usable stems and a mix decision. If you only have a finished stereo file, accept that broad processing has less control.

Choose cleanup when the song and balance work but the exported texture gets in the way.
